the meaning is two-fold and prob'ly without need for explanation to you clever cookies
1. a play on the Malcolm Irwin's concept (thieved and used entirely without permission) that the economic notion of scarcity is an economic myth and in fact there has always been 'enough'
2. that there may be now a call to action to stop talking about some of these theories and respond to them
the significance of the 'z' in lieu of an 's'? the other version was already taken
Kia ora Tim. I don't believe that there wasn't any significance in choosing the 'z' for 'iz'. Just admit that you're an old skool homeboy from around the way!
ReplyDeleteAnd to you, I greet thee from Dunna's.
ReplyDeleteI'm coming to realize that 70% of my life & resources is spent doing things that have little significance outside of my own selfish temporary pleasures. 70% of my working day is spent on things expected of me, or on my own expectations for my role, (often things of little more value than keeping the mother ship running) and 70% of the churches energies and resources may well fit these same categories. If I am to cause a 'tipping point' in my neighbourhoods, then I need to radically change my mindset and then reframe my days and weeks. This not so much in a large dramatic way, more so a gradual sustainable way that makes it achievable. To address the 'enough' in my local context, to contemplate the 'intolerable practices on the present' I need to build reflection, dialogue and simple practices into my everyday. I need to hang out with the people on the fridges and learn their story that I may better understand mine. To somehow grapple with future hindsight's now, so I can live prophetically and make changes in my everyday actions. So a simple love of life and others causes a shift...
Flip what am I on?!
ummm...simply put..action reflection here will be what I'm looking fwd to. I'll act today and tell you about it tomorrow.
